The “Fascinator” a small head piece which fits on the head or hair by using an Alice band or a comb, is a light-weight decorative concoction of fancy materials such as feathers, flowers, jewels, pearls, lace, beads and just about anything your imagination can put together! Usually worn at a jaunty angle these fun and eye catching accessories are starting to take the place of a more traditional hat by many guests at weddings.
The Press are reporting that it was indeed the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton that has sparked the trend for Fascinators. The hat loving Princess has been spotted wearing them on numerous occassions. Stores in Britain such as Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and John Lewis saw sales of the accessory go up by as much as 65% in the lead up to the Royal Wedding.
At B-Freed however we have been noticing this trend for much longer…..and here are some stunning examples to showcase the many types of fun and beautiful fascinators we have seen worn at weddings, mainly by guests, but also by brides……
Thanks to all of our brides and guests featured in this blog…too many to mention! But you all look amazing!
