Laura and Craig came over from Tyne & Wear in England. And boy was there timing close!!! They were married the day after Hurricane Irene!!! Literally 24 hours before their wedding it was absolute mayhem in NY!!!
They chose an amazing hotel, the Trump Soho, and I was so glad Laura wanted getting ready photos. Look at how gorgeous a bride she is!!! Upon arrival I was met with huge smiles, big laughs, even a drink! The real fun started when we arrived at the Central Park Conservatory Garden and was greeted by a lovely employee who said “the park is technically closed because of all the downed trees, but since you have a permit we are going to make an exception for you!” What a close call! So we avoided some of the areas that were badly damaged, and managed to utilize the beauty of the park to get the photos done. From there I took the couple to the Highline and the Meat Packing District. I love shooting in these areas. They afford a lot of creativity and show a great side of NYC – art and grit! The couple had a lovely dinner at Fagiolini, where I said my goodbyes 🙁
Laura wrote me this lovely note afterwards, which always reminds me why I work so hard to pursue the best possible photo every second of every shoot – “We managed to view our pictures at midnight last night and even though I knew they would be amazing, I didn’t realise just how good they would be! You have made not only me extremely happy but you have done what no-one else has managed to do and take photos of Craig that he loves!!! Not likes, loves! Even if I tried, I couldn’t find the words to tell you how happy I am. You are a true talent and total gent. Thank you again. Mrs Smith “
Love the headpieces!
Thanks Anthony! Those are “fascinators,” which coincidentally will be featured on my next blog post….
Thanks for looking!
Wow Brian!!!! These pictures are so beautiful, and romantic. I love the beauty against the city. The bride is just breathtaking. If you speak to her please tell her that would be the dress I’d pick 🙂
