Jaime works for iHeart Radio. Just through hanging out and being social, I met his fantastic fiancée. Nyika is an amazing baker (she made my 40th birthday cake-a big Nikon camera!) and she owns her own baking business, Infusion Bakery. She is very talented and ambitious – a combo that will serve her well! I know not too long down the road, she will be able to pursue her own business full time.
We headed towards Central Park for their fall shoot to take advantage of the beautiful foliage. We also had a very short window of time to pull it off. Due to this, I chose the southwest part of Central Park.
We started off at the Columbus Circle, because I like the fountains there–who doesn’t love a good fountain– and also because I know that part of the park well. It’s easy to get in and out of and the subway is literally right there.
Some of the better parts of the park are tougher to access when you’re in a hurry. This part of Central Park has a few good nooks that gave us nice options without the wandering.
As photographer, an important role is advising the couple on wardrobe choices. I often say no black or white! Solids always work well, but more importantly, they should be color coordinated. And when you are doing engagement photos in a park, color brings out more color! Nyika & Jaime are a great looking couple, don’t you agree?!?!
My favorite shot of them: A picture of him holding her and lifting her in the air. It’s whimsical, romantic and fun. I think it turned out really cute! Take a look here in the gallery for more!
