You never know who you might meet….

Having your Wedding photo shoot on the streets of New York City creates wonderful and unique opportunities to interact and be photographed with Tourists, Characters and New Yorkers!

Take a look at some of our couples and their extra wedding guests!

The NYPD recently made the decision to stop the policy of ticketing costumed entertainers.  They are allowed to receive tips, but not charge for pictures…

Word on the New York Street is that Elmo is still getting a bad rap, according to Girish Dani, who dresses up as Spiderman… “Elmo still gets a bad rap , a few Elmos chase people for tips…I heard one or two Elmos drink whiskey, and this could be an issue”

Oh Elmo!

Competition between these entertainers can be immense and the costumed crowd on a Friday in Times Square can include four Elmos, three Mickey Mouse, two Puss in Boots, the Grinch, Cookie Monster, an Edward Scissorhands, a  Winnie the Pooh and a Spiderman.

You can even bump into characters in Central Park!

The  New York City Department of Parks and Recreation maintains a specialized unit of full time and seasonal uniformed peace officers who enforce department rules and regulations within Central Park, they patrol on foot, horseback, patrol boats and marked trucks.

The Naked Cowboy  (real name Robert John Burck) started busking on Christmas Day in 1997 on Venice Beach in Los Angeles

You can follow him and see where he has performed every day on his trail of events (that goes right back to 1997!) here

He has a line of products available to buy on his website, from music, underwear and t shirts to a replica guitar! He has even written a book! ‘Determination – The Legend of the Naked Cowboy

In October 2011, there were an all-time record 41,200 homeless people in New York.

Music Under New York‘ is one of the many visual and performing arts programs administered by the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority‘s Arts for Transit Office that increases the attractiveness of transit facilities for customers. At present more than 350 individual performers and music ensembles participate in over 7,000 annual performances in approximately 25 locations throughout the transit system.

The ‘Free Hugs‘ campaign, although officially banned,  is one that I fully support! 🙂

The Naked Cowgirl, real name Sandy Kane, a former stripper, was sent a ‘cease and desist’ letter by the Naked Cowboy for her unauthorised use of his trademarked name. He has however dropped the lawsuit so long as she adds her stage name of Sandy Kane immediately before or after it.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) established in 1845, is the largest municipal police force in the United States

The New York Fire Department (NYFD) is also the largest of its kind in the United States, second largest in the world after the Tokyo Fire Department

Chicago‘ recently celebrated its 15th year on Broadway and is also the longest running American musical in Broadway History! It played its 6,138th performance on August 27 2011

Approximately 47 million foreign and American tourists visit New York every year!

Keep an eye on events in Times Square on their very own webcam here

Keep a look out, you ever know who you will bump into!
